5 tips for cleaning your vacuum

Your vacuum does a lot of dirty work - so it deserves a little TLC!

Cleaning your vacuum regularly not only helps it last longer, but also makes sure it keeps doing its job (and smelling fresh while it’s at it).

Once a month (or every other month if you don’t use it often), give your vacuum the quick spa day it deserves with these 5 tips:

  1. Clean the filter: Pop it in the washer, then let it air dry completely. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil if you’d like a light scent when you vacuum.

  2. Wipe the canister: Use a microfiber cloth and a bit of mild dish soap to clean out the inside.

  3. Rinse the hoses: Disconnect them and run water through to clear out any built-up dust or debris.

  4. Check the beater bar: Cut away any hair or threads that have wrapped around it.

  5. Shine the outside: Wipe it down so it looks as good as it works!

After a good clean, your vacuum will look so nice you might not even want to use it (but you should - it’s ready to get to work again!).

Congrats to Nicole - she won a paid day off as part of our employee incentive program!

From day one, Nicole has made such a positive impression on both our clients and our team. She has a great attitude, works hard, and brings a smile everywhere she goes. Even after a long day, she’s the first to lend a hand, always eager to make a difference. Also a quick study, Nicole soaks up coaching like a sponge and puts it into practice right away. We love having her on our team!

Our Employee Incentive Program

All of our staff who pass their team inspections are entered into a monthly draw to win a paid day off. It’s just one of the many benefits we provide for our staff at Clean & Tidy!

ElderDog is a national non-profit with a local group in Waterloo Region. Their volunteers assist seniors with pet care, promote older dogs who have lost their homes (often due to their human’s illness, relocation, or passing), educate on the important bond between seniors and their dogs, and support and conduct research on the topic.

ElderDog helps seniors care for their dogs so that they can stay together and benefit from their relationship with their canine companions. They assist with exercising dogs, delivering or picking up food, and transportation to and from the vet or groomer.

If you or someone in your life could benefit from this support, do not hesitate to reach out to ElderDog!
